On November 13th, 2019, Antonio Jesús Díaz Honrubia (UPM) represented CUREX in a get-together for H2020 projects which are currently developing blockchain-based solutions for healthcare, titled “Blockchain and Healthcare: How is Blockchain Facilitating a Secure, Scalable, Data-Sharing Infrastructure in the Healthcare Industry?”. The meeting was organized by the European Commision within the context of "Convergence: The Global Blockchain Congress 2019", in Malaga, Spain.
After attending a panel about blockchain in healthcare, in which members of the "My Health My Data" project presented the opportunities and challenges in the topic, a meeting between representatives from five H2020 projects (My Health My Data, CUREX, SPHINX, POSEIDON, SecureHospitals) took place to discuss the possibility of collaborations on this matter. While the collaboration of CUREX and My Health My Data was clear, representatives of other projects discussed how they could also work together with that same project, which is the one in a more advanced development state.
Concluding the meeting, the Head of Sector of EU Policies, Saile Rinne who was moderating the panel, asked about possible topics for future European project calls, reaching to the conclusion that these should be directed towards the health data interoperability, since nowadays each institution uses different systems and it is not always possible to achieve full interoperation between them.
